Megatech Shipping Policy
All customers are responsible for shipping the units in need of repair or servicing to and from our facility at their expense, unless arranged otherwise. Return shipping is usually included in Warranty service by some manufacturers. In such case, the customer is required to send the defective unit with original or adequate box and packing for re - shipping. Megatech reserves the right to refuse warranty service of any goods damaged in transit due to improper packing. Please inquire for specific recommendations for alternative means of shipping your unit to us. Refer to our packaging section for tips on shipping your unit to us.

Who To Ship By
Which courier you choose to use is entirely up to you. If you are in the Toronto area and are unable to drop off the defective unit in person, you might consider sending your unit via a small city courier. This can prove to be efficient and cost effective. When we receive a unit and find that it is damaged, we do a quick visual inspection of the exterior of the monitor, the packing, and the box and then put the monitor back in the box. We then contact the customer to inform them of the problem.

Receiving damaged goods
At this point the customer can then decide if they would like to pursue the shipping company for damages or if they would like us to continue with the repair. If the customer would like to pursue the shipping company for damages, the customer must contact the shipping company and make arrangements for them to come and view the unit. Megatech will not accept the responsibility of pursuing a shipping company for evaluations or for financial payment for damages. We will put the customers unit aside until the customer works out an arrangement with the shipping company in question.

Please note that courier companies usually take note to the quality of box and packing used to ship the unit, and hence in their inspection of the damaged unit will usually be blameless. So ensure that the unit is appropriately boxed and packed prior to shipment.

What do I do if I don't have box and packing
If you do not have appropriate box and packing and you desire to ship us your monitor you have a number of options:

  • You can have the unit personally dropped off by hand (if you are within travelling         distance)

  • You may elect to ship the unit by a smaller city courier as they do not require a box     to transport your unit

  • You may attempt to locate and purchase box and packing on your own

  • You may purchase the box and packing from us (if they are in stock) and have it         shipped to your location to commence with the repair process

  • How do I pack my defective unit

    All Products:

  • The best advice is to always keep your original box and packing as there is never a     better substitute. If you have a number of units, keep at least 2 sets of box and         packing for future shipping. Replacement box and packing is never quite as good         and is usually expensive.

  • Make sure that the bottom of your box is strongly reinforced

  • The unit must be fitted tightly so that it does not move freely

  • If you do not have the appropriate original box and packing, make sure that the          bottom of the box is very well padded

  • Reinforce the outlined structure of the box (seams, corners, etc.) with strong tape if     box integrity is at all questionable

  • Clearly mark your box with the appropriate information (name, address, return             address and RMA number) if it is being sent in for service. Remove any old shipping     labels as this may be confusing to the courier drivers and thus send your unit to the     wrong destination.

    Monitors Only:

  • The monitor should be enclosed in a clear plastic bag to protect the unit from dust

  • Always ensure that there is adequate amount of packing (styrofoam) in the base of     the box before the monitor is packed

  • Never ship the unit sitting in a normal upright position with a base on it unless it is       in its original box and packing. The unit can be very easily damaged

  • Place the unit either on its face (screen down) or upside down (with the pedestal           facing up). If the box will not close because of the pedestal, remove the pedestal         and do not send it

  • Do not pack your monitor with loose fill (styrofoam chips, pelasfam, etc.). This is not     proper monitor packaging material and makes a dreadful mess. Also it does not         provide adequate protection
